Description
Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro
Beyerdynamic is a well-known brand in the audio industry, producing high-quality headphones for a variety of applications. Among their most popular models is the DT 990 Pro, a professional-grade over-ear headphone designed for critical listening and studio use.
The DT 990 Pro features an open-back design, which allows for better air flow and a more spacious soundstage. This design also provides a more natural and transparent sound, making it easier to hear details and nuances in the music. The large 45mm dynamic drivers deliver a wide frequency response range of 5Hz to 35kHz, ensuring that every note is reproduced accurately and with clarity.
Comfort is also a priority with the DT 990 Pro. The soft velour ear pads and padded headband ensure a comfortable fit for extended listening sessions. The headphones are also lightweight, weighing only 250g, which further adds to their comfort.
In terms of build quality, the DT 990 Pro is made to last. The headband and ear cups are made of sturdy metal, while the cable is detachable and replaceable, adding to the headphone’s durability and longevity.
The DT 990 Pro is also versatile in terms of compatibility. It comes with a 3.5mm jack and a 6.35mm adapter, making it compatible with a wide range of devices such as smartphones, laptops, and audio interfaces.
One thing to note is that the DT 990 Pro has a high impedance of 250 ohms, which means that it requires a powerful amplifier to drive it properly. While this may be a drawback for some, it also means that the headphones are more sensitive to nuances in sound and can deliver a more accurate representation of the music.

Difference compared to the DT 990 Edition
The DT 990 Edition headphones for use at home and the DT 990 PRO studio headphones: Soundwise, both models are identical as they feature identically designed acoustic transducers.
There are fundamentally two differences between the models. Firstly, the Edition models have a softer headband for enjoying music at home whereas the PRO headset has a slightly firmer fit. Secondly, the Edition models come equipped with a straight cable whereas the PRO models come with a coiled cable.
Overall, the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a professional-grade headphone that delivers accurate, transparent, and detailed sound. Cons: Hard to clean. The input to the headphones can be a little in the way sometimes but I see no way of fixing it. Overall Review: I’d just like to say first that I’m a novice to nice audio. My best previous pair of headphones was a pair of Beats mixers. I’m absolutely blown away by the sound quality and comfort of these headphones. The bass is crisp and clean, I can hear lyrics and audio in music I’ve never heard before. It’s almost like listening to a whole new song when you get these. You can hear what the artist is trying to portray in a way never heard before. Not to mention that these look very aesthetic and are very comfortable. I wear them for hours sometimes and never get tired of them.

Pros: Comfortable because of the velour ear pads. I am a gamer and have worn these earphones for 4 hours straight with no discomfort. Makes my 1st person shooter games come alive. Also, I am a Blues fan and my favorite bands are just “alive” now; the soundstage is expansive. Cons: I bought the 250 ohm model and this meant I had to buy an integrated DAC/amp. I have no problem with this. However, if you don’t want to buy a DAC + Amp then purchase either the 32 ohm or the 80 ohm models. Overall Review: I highly recommend these closed back Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 ohm headphones.
