Cons: I thought the first one I got had a problem so I sent it back, got the replacement, updated the firmware (as I did the 1st one), setup the wireless and had similar issues as the first one. wireless would drop out, couldn’t use streaming services, PS4 wouldn’t connect at all. The ASUS quick start guide was no help, NO phone number to call ASUS! I finally reset the router to defaults and then everything started working. Nowhere in the quick start guide or anywhere else did ASUS mention that a reset to defaults would be necessary! Overall Review: If your not comfortable navigating the software of a router DO NOT buy this router. If you want to purchase a router that is easy to setup ‘out of the box’, this is not the router for you. ASUS can do better, how about some actual helpful instructions. For what it’s worth, my next router won’t be an ASUS, who needs this kind of frustration? Final note, in the ‘quick start guide’ under ‘FAQ’ it states “Customer hotline: refer to the Support Hotline section in this Quick Start Guide” LOL, there is NO Support Hotline section in the Quick Start Guide. Way to be thorough ASUS!

Pros: Fast Easy initial setup Cons: Horribly unreliable out of the box Causes disconnects until it is updated and reset There is absolutely no way this router will cover a 3000sqft house. 5G signal is at 50% in the room directly above the router Overall Review: As the previous review mentioned this router is completely unusable for streaming or games until the firmware has been updated and the router reset. Initially I thought it may be my internet(I just moved) that was causing me to disconnect in games, but once I swapped my old router back in I stopped having issues. Updated the firmware on this one and it would not reconnect to the internet for about 30 minutes. The router said it was connected, but no ping. DNS was working though(It pulled the IP for google after a DNS flush). After doing the reset it seems to have stabilized, but I need to do more testing. I will update this review if it is not stable after more testing.
