Apple has recently announced the return of its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) for 2023. The event is set to take place online from June 5 to 9 and will feature the latest advancements in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. The conference is open and free to all developers, offering unique access to Apple engineers, as well as insights into new technologies and tools.
According to Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, WWDC is an exciting opportunity to connect with talented developers from around the world who make this community so extraordinary. She expressed that WWDC23 is going to be the biggest and most exciting yet and that they can’t wait to see many developers online and in person at this special event.
The event will provide developers and students with the chance to attend a special in-person experience at Apple Park on opening day. The event is expected to include the keynote and State of the Union presentations, along with other sessions and one-on-one labs, giving attendees the opportunity to engage with Apple engineers and other developers. However, space for this in-person event will be limited, and details on how to apply to attend can be found on the Apple Developer site and app.
In addition, WWDC23 is an opportunity to support student developers through the Swift Student Challenge. This program seeks to elevate developers and learners of all ages who love to code. With the help of Swift Playgrounds, a revolutionary app for iPad and Mac that makes learning the Swift programming language interactive and fun, students from around the world are invited to create an app playground on a topic of their choice. Submissions for this year’s challenge are open until April 19, and students can find more information about the Swift Student Challenge on the program’s website.
Apple will be sharing additional conference information in advance of WWDC23 through the Apple Developer app and on the Apple Developer website. Developers and interested parties are encouraged to stay tuned for updates about this year’s event.
