Straight out of the box, you have everything you need to fly. Owning a DJI Spark, I didn’t need to learn much when it came to flying the DJI mini 2. However, the Mini 2 does use a slightly different app than the Spark. But overall, The drone flies effortlessly under calm conditions. Even with a little wind, The mini 2 seemed quite stable. I wish the Mini 2 had more LED lights flashing on the underside to make it more visible in the air. The three speed settings are very noticeable and can really help in getting that cinematic shot you’re looking for. Like most drones and their software, take the time to watch some videos on YouTube and read articles online that give you insight on how to adjust app settings like, aperture, brightness, etc. It’s quite amazing seeing the quality of footage that you can obtain from this relative low price-point drone. If you need more accessories, then spend a bit more for the more expensive bundles. I bought a propeller holder strap since the basic bundle didn’t have one. I feel that was so important to prevent your propellers from flapping around while folded up and stored. Flight time is not bad averaging about 20 -30 minutes depending on how you are flying the drone and if the wind is strong. The three axis gimbal is a great feature. the video stability is quite great for such a tiny lightweight drone. There’s no doubt it’s one of the best bang for the buck drones on the market today.

This is my second drone and I love it. The first was a much lesser machine to learn with. I am physically handicapped in several ways but this DJI Mini 2 is easy enough to use that I’m finding great joy in flying it. This Mini 2 is capable of so much more than I will ever use it for which is to view and enjoy my property in the mountains since I can’t hike it any more. So much advanced technology and great features in a small package. Bought the Fly More combo. One of the best decisions that I’ve made a long time. Looking for a drone? I highly recommend this one. Went ahead and registered this with the FAA because I want to add a few things to it to enhance my use of the Mini 2 and these additions will take it above the 250 gram limit. Registering was very easy and I’m glad I registered it. Can’t say enough about how much fun I’m having with this drone. May have added years to my life!

I purchased this drone because it is under 250 grams, and therefore not subject to FAA registration, and other regulations coming soon. I have an AS as a UAV Operator, my Part 107, and other related certs, so I have flown big drones. Having said that, this little bugger is easy amazing. It is easy to carry around. I actually purchased the fly more combo, but had a rogue wave swallow my first Mini 2. I liked it so much I purchased the RTF combo, as I already had the carry case and charger. It has exceptional flight characteristics, well above its pay grade for its size. It is stable and has many features the big boys have. Flight time and speed are impressive as well.

Pros: Easy to use, fast, small, no registration Cons: Flight time, no crash detection Overall Review: Best drone for the price range and learning curve. This is an entry level with many of the big things the more expensive ones have but the distance and compact size make this worth while. Very fun to use and explore my surroundings will upgrade in a few years to a more bigger one once I master this one.

Pros: Although I do recommend watching a few videos to learn all the features the Mini 2 has along with how to use them, this thing is incredibly intuitive and stable to the point that my mother – a senior citizen – was able to pick it up and fly it with ease. I am very impressed with the quality of images the camera produces and the latency between the drone and the display screen is only about a half of a second which seems reasonable for a hobbyist drone. Cons: RESEARCH COMPATIBLE MOBILE DEVICES – not every phone/tablet can download the DJI Fly app. There should be more emphasis or disclaimers about the limited mobile device compatibility. Maybe it is there and I missed it which could be my fault, but I had no idea what I was getting into. I generally buy the cheapest smartphone because my phone is simply a phone to me, not my primary computing or surfing device and I had no idea that it would not work until my drone arrived. I really didn’t want to buy a new phone since my phone works and the compatible phones cost nearly as much as the compatible tablets so I went with an iPad mini and 3d printed the “Mini 2 / Mavic Air 2 – iPad mini Hook – Just Right” which works perfectly. Overall Review: Great product that is easy to use with a lot of functionality. I suggest trying to download the DJI Fly app on the device you intend to use it on prior to purchase. If you cannot download the app, your device is not compatible so you’d better prepare to spend roughly another $400 or more to fly it or look at other options.

Pros: * Bundle is a great package. * If it wasn’t marked as refurbished I would have thought it was new. * Ultra portable. Cons: * DJI Fly for Android not available in the app store, needs to be downloaded from DJI directly. * Controller battery looks to be sealed in the controller with no option to replace. Overall Review: I’ve considered picking up a drone for a while now and when I saw the recent Shell Shocker deal with included Newegg gift card I pulled the trigger. About an hour has been logged on the drone so far and I’m pretty happy with it. Controls are pretty easy to pick up but if you don’t like the preset defaults there are two other configurations to chose from. I’ve used R/C vehicles for years and it has been a smooth transition for me to adjust to all the controls available on the Mini 2 from the classic 2-channel radios I’ve used before. I’m quite impressed with just how far the rage is on this although I don’t think I’ve even gone further than 2km from where I stand, but that may not be any surprise for someone already familiar with drone capabilities. Features included in the device (a few pre-programmed flight patterns, return to home functionality) are nice although it lacks some of the fancy functions available on higher end models like subject tracking. Camera shoots a clear 4K image even when I was recording to a 1U card instead of the 3U it states I should be using. The camera could use some better light adjustment though. On one low flight I was heading towards the setting sun and all that showed up was a blinding sky and dark silhouette of objects I was approaching. This is more expensive than other “entry level” drones I’ve seen listed but from those I’ve looked at I think this is also a much better product. Everything with it feels robust and solid and not a toy. The package comes with cables for attaching any standard cell phone up to the controller, regardless of if it uses regular micro USB, USB-C, or Apple Lightning. Unfortunately the compact right-angle design, which I do like, requires me to remove my phone from the Otter Box case that normally protects it in order for me to get the cable fully plugged in. I would like to know why the DJI Fly application isn’t available in the Google Play store. They do this for IOS (probably because that would be the only way for those users to get it) so what is preventing it from being in the Play store? I’m not a fan of installing apps “from other sources”, which I assume also means it won’t auto update itself. The batteries for the drone have lots of built in protections to keep you flying safe, and I’m sure additional batteries are readily obtained. The bundle already comes with three so I don’t see any need to shop for more at this time. But the controller itself appears sealed up tight. Rechargeable batteries have a finite life and eventually the controller battery will have a reduced capacity or could fail altogether. I would prefer if this were user replaceable for ensuring a long flying life of this package but as it is I can’t find a way inside the controller and it would seem to be built-in end of life. Given how many flights you can get out of one controller charge I wouldn’t expect DJI to create a regularly removable pack like the drone uses but at least allow for easy replacement with a DJI pack if needed. Like how you could replace the batteries on old cordless phones and similar devices… it was just a pack of cells connected via a pigtail plug.

Pros: Agree with everything the other reviewers stated. Arrived in perfectly packaged box with all items in plastic and all packaging stickers attached. Aside from black sticker on side of box which identifies it as a refurbished item if they took that off you would never know it if you went directly to the store and purchased it in person. This drone is truly awesome for the price. I owned a cheaper drone before this, I enjoyed it for about 3 weeks before I flew it on a slightly (and I do mean slightly) windy day and I lost control, the wind took it and it went down a few neighborhoods away. Never found it. This drone has been flown in winds several times stronger then that and it is stable. You will only lose it if you fly it in a hurricane (well less then a hurricane, but you would need really strong winds to lose it.) It handles the wind extremely well for a drone this size and price. plus the safety features such as auto return to home on signal loss and “find my drone” function make this drone fairly hard to lose as well. Cons: It doesn’t make me breakfast. Overall Review: Great range, 4k video and creative options for the price. Good charge and fly time. Was on the fence about buying drone this expensive however fully happy with this purchase.

Pros: -quality -price -30 day warranty -DJI -travel distance -4k -GPS and obstacle avoidance Overall Review: This is a great drone at a crazy price. I was kinda concerned about the refurbed thing at first but when i got it and flew it….all concerns melted away. I will use the to replace my Phantom 3 Pro. It doesn’t have ALL the obstacle avoidance but it has the bottom and i always keep in sight. The 4k and the new transmission protocol allow it to go WAY farther than the P3. I really like the small size and case it came with. It will for sure make me use it more, as the P3 was to big and bulky at times. Here is a link to my first video- https://youtu.be/FQfJADSKJdc

The drone itself would be a great starter for beginners. Shame about DJI not making their goggles compatible with it though and thus what’s offered, is a plastic version of the old cardboard goggles one used to use with ones phone way back when. For the price, I’m happy enough with it. As there are ways around the compatibility problem, I’m sure..

Pros: Works well Easy to set up Cons: none Overall Review: Bought 2 of these and both worked great. It was my first drone and have had zero issues. Glade we got the flymore combo for the extra batteries, you’ll most likely want them. Went out into the country to test fly them for the first time so there were no airspace issues. Putting the phone in airplane mode and flying at and altitude of 120m we were getting a range of 2000m. Haven’t had too much free time to test more, but i felt that was rather good.

This refurbished drone doesn’t resume all the functions DJI mini 2 has. It doesn’t do automatic circle video, for example. The other flying functions seems OK. The most important ‘go home’ function for a beginner is available. The product was not equipped with propellers. I had to order and wait, so did not get enough time to evaluate the drone. I decide to keep it for practicing as a beginner.

Higher end in the the hobby drones. Purchased for monitoring inaccessible areas of the ranch and for possible real estate presentations. The software sophistication is staggering. There are essentially endless tutorials on You-Tube. I’m still not feeling masterful, but the automatic features will keep you out of a lot of troubles. The refurbished unit I bought had a downward sensor malfunction (this drone doesn’t feature lateral sensor protection which will cost you about another $1,500 in a higher end machine), but the factory return and repair was fast and seamless and covered in warrantee. I have RC aircraft experience from years ago. The control directions are different, but the experience probably helps. The photos and videos are stunning. Don’t tell my wife, but it’s also fun.
